FOOT CARE

The Benefits of Podiatric Care

Foot and ankle problems can arise in an instant or develop over a long period of time. It is common for people to ignore their foot and ankle pain but this decision may cause the problem to worsen over time. Making a proactive decision to treat your foot and ankle symptoms may be life-changing and essential in preserving your daily active lifestyle.

At Lawrenceville Foot Care, we treat patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric and anyone in between. We specialize in heel pain, foot pain, foot and ankle sprains, ingrown toenails, warts, foot ulcers, skin disorders, gout, bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, arthritis, and sports-related injuries.

We recommend that patients with diabetes come to our conveniently located office in Lawrenceville for a comprehensive diabetic foot exam and to discuss common foot problems associated with diabetes. By getting your regular checkups, many conditions including diabetic neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, ulceration of the foot and ankle, fungal skin and nails, arthritis, and biomechanical abnormalities are able to be detected and treated early.

MISCONCEPTIONS

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

A common misconception is that podiatrists only treat palliative care including nails and calluses. This is far from the truth. Podiatrists have extensive training in treating all aspects of the foot and ankle. Podiatrists are required to complete 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of podiatric medical school and a minimum of 3 years of surgical residency. We are well trained in the biomechanics of the foot and ankle, which is crucial in selecting the proper treatments for each patient from conservative care to surgical interventions. We are able to treat skin conditions, muscular-skeletal conditions, infections, foot and ankle injuries, and diabetic foot care. Our doctors at Lawrenceville Foot Care are all Board Certified.
